Clynton Clarke is an up and coming filmmaker from the Diamond City (Kimberley) in the Northern Cape Province, South Africa.
Clynton’s career started off as an entertainer (DJ) and later he started his own production company which spiralled towards a record label in 2016 of which young artists from Kimberley was signed under. To assist in promoting these artists, he soon learned the importance of visual marketing. He then bought his first camera to start shooting music videos for these artists. Little did he know that this would become his new found love. This led him to him learning the art of editing, color grading and audio post-production. Clynton then soon realised that he has a deep urge to start telling stories through visuals.

As he grew his experience in videography he was approached to be the cinematographer for a local feature film called LIESBET. Soon after that, he applied for funding from the National Film and Video Foundation in association with the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture they had a call for short documentaries with the theme UNSUNG HEROES. A few years prior to this call by NFVF, Clynton already reached out to a young man making waves in the powerlifting sport, to discuss the possibility of doing a documentary for him. So when this opportunity from NFVF presented itself, he knew this was his chance to get his foot into the filmmaking industry.

He is forever grateful that the NFVF was open to his story and it turned out awesome beyond his wildest dreams. Clynton’s journey has just begun!
